2017 FRMCU Scholarships

Every year, Fall River Municipal Credit Union awards six, $500.00 scholarships to qualifying members who are currently enrolled in or who have been accepted to an undergraduate program of study at an accredited college or university.

2016 FRMCU Awards Scholarships

The Directors of the Fall River Municipal Credit Union, along with Matthew G. Schondek, President and CEO, are pleased to announce their 2016 FRMCU Scholarship Recipients.

Six area students received a $500 scholarship. The scholarships were awarded at the Credit Union’s Annual Meeting on April 9, 2016.

This year’s recipients are, Brittany Baker; of Fall River, Gwenyth Darmondy; of Somerset, Corey Toupin; of Fall River, Maya Porter; of Fall River, Katherine Vasconcelos; of Lakeville, and Madison Zenni; of Fall River.

“These young people are tomorrow’s leaders and we are delighted to reward our eligible members choosing to continue their education with these scholarships.” said FRMCU President and CEO, Matthew G. Schondek. 

The Credit Union, which has been building dreams since 1930, will continue to help young people with their financial needs. These scholarships are just one of the many ways that the Credit Union gives back to their members by helping with funding their education.

2015 FRMCU Awards Scholarships

The Directors of the Fall River Municipal Credit Union, along with Matthew G. Schondek, President and CEO, are pleased to announce this year’s recipients of a $500 scholarship.  The scholarships were awarded at the Credit Union’s Annual Meeting on April 18, 2015.

The recipients are, Dylan Almeida, Fall River, MA attending the University of Vermont; Caroline Dunn, Fall River, MA attending Ithica College; Benjamin Kaliff, Fall River, MA attending the University of Vermont; Matthew Michael, Assonet, MA attending the University of Massachusetts at Amherst; Jenna Santerre, Swansea, MA attending the University of Rhode Island; and Kaleigh Swainamer, Lakeville, MA attending University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

This year, FRMCU included a special $850.00 Anniversary Scholarship to commemorate 85 years of serving the greater community and to honor the memory one of its Directors, Richard Vasconcellos. The recipient of this scholarship is Thomas Martin, Fall River, MA. He will be attending University of Massachusetts at Amherst this fall.

These young people are tomorrow’s leaders and we are delighted to reward our eligible members choosing to continue their education with this scholarship.” said FRMCU President and CEO, Matthew G. Schondek.

2014 FRMCU Awards Scholarships

The Directors of the Fall River Municipal Credit Union, along with Matthew G. Schondek, President and CEO, proudly announce the 2014 recipients of the Fall River Municipal Credit Union Scholarships. They are, Emily Audet of Rochester, who will attend Swarthmore College in the Fall; William Patrick Brum, of Raynham, who will attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute this Fall; Corinne Laurianno, of Westport, who is currently attending Bridgewater State University; Nicholas Raposo, of Fall River, who plans on attending Boston College in the Fall; Megan Rockett, of Fall River, who is a senior at B.M.C. Durfee High School, has not made her college choice as of yet and Chelsea Young, of Fall River, who will be attending Becker College this Fall.

“These young people will be tomorrow’s leaders and the Board of Directors is delighted to reward eligible members choosing to continue their education with this scholarship.” said FRMCU Chairman Michael Shea. FRMCU is an active member of the community and these $500.00 scholarships are just one of the many ways the Credit Union gives back to their members by helping with funds for education.
