FRMCU Welcomes New Board Members
Matthew G. Schondek, President and CEO of Fall River Municipal Credit Union is pleased to announce the addition of three new members to the Credit Unions Board of Directors. Christopher R. Carreiro, Esq., Scott O’Brien, and Janice M. Carrigg have been elected to the Board.
Christopher R. Carreiro, Esq., is a Licensed Attorney in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, who focuses on Debt Settlement, Bankruptcy, Foreclosure Avoidance, Personal Injury, Real Estate, Employment Law and Estate Planning. He holds his Real Estate Brokers License and is the owner and operator of Lands End Realty, Inc. Atty. Carreiro is also a Business Owner, Adjunct Instructor at Bristol Community College, On-Air Radio Personality for WSAR 1480AM, Firefighter/911 Dispatcher for the Swansea Fire Department, Board Chairman for Swansea Cable Television and designated the Swansea Coordinator for the Americans with Disabilities Act, ensuring that the town of Swansea is in compliance with Federal Regulations and settlement agreement with the Department of Justice concerning the Americans with Disabilities Act. Atty. Carreiro resides in Swansea and also serves on the Swansea Board as the Selectman.
Scott O’Brien is a graduate of Diman Regional Vocational High School and proud member of the Diman Hall of Fame. He is the President of O’Brien’s Plumbing and Heating which he founded in 1986 and co-owner of Globe Car Wash in Fall River. He is a resident of Somerset and has held the plumbing and gas inspector position for the past 25 years and has been the Chair of the Board for Water and Sewer Department for 10 years. He loves boating and spending time with his wife Lisa, three children and three grandchildren.
Janice M. Carrigg started her career out as an Electrical Engineer specializing in Nuclear Power and shortly changed direction and began working for Bristol Pacific as a Property Manager for Edgewater Apartments I & II in Westport. She oversees all aspects of running and operating the buildings. Ms. Carrigg is also on the Board of Directors for People Incorporated as the Second Vice Chair on the Executive committee.
President Schondek stated that “Management is excited to welcome the new Board Members to the Credit Union and feels that the Credit Union will benefit greatly from their expertise.”
